Music Information
for incoming 6th graders
All Roosevelt students must choose one of three music classes:
Band – flute, clarinet, sax, trumpet, trombone, tuba, and percussion
Orchestra – violin, viola, cello, and bass
Vocal Music – similar to the elementary music class
Students who want to be in band or orchestra are encouraged to take the Cedar Rapids Community School District summer music lessons and should contact the teacher no later than July 15 to register.

If your student cannot be part of the summer lessons, but know that he/she wants to be in band or orchestra in the fall, please email the teacher immediately so your child will be scheduled for that class. Students not registered for band or orchestra will be placed in the vocal music class.
